God's Provision

God always provides in HIS timing and in what He thinks is best for us. I am reminded of it daily as we have prayed and are continuing to pray that God will provide us with a new house. We could really use a new house. One that is larger to accommodate us all, and one without leaks, mold, mildew, ceilings coming in etc....lol Today, God has put before us an opportunity of one. My wonderful hubby has already looked, and is taking me back to look this afternoon when he gets off of work. The rent is exactly what I felt like God had showed me we could afford a couple of weeks ago, it's in a good neighborhood, and VERY reasonable deposit! It needs some updating, but we can paint, etc....the owner told us, plus we can move in ASAP! Updating means fun to me.... a little paint can usually go a long way.....it was one lady that had lived there for over 15 years. I'm not afraid of a little elbow grease and updating. That is usually fun to me, and it even has a basement that may have the possibility of being a 4th bedroom, not to mention a double car garage, which means we can actually park our car in it, etc...it's a large corner lot, nice area of town, and great place for the kids to play, etc......

It fits our criteria perfectly, and I believe it's God's will. We will know after while when we look at it. I called our preacher, and asked him to stand in prayer for us and I have been in prayer as well. I have asked God to give us clear direction and that with out a doubt whether or not it is from HIM. We are doing our best to honor God with our lives, and finances as well. He is blessing us abundantly, and answering our prayers. THANK YOU LORD!!!! Our preacher's word is that we will know and have a peace immediately if it's God's will for us to have this house when we walk into the living room. I am standing in agreement and faith that we will have that peace and knowledge upon entering it.

As I searched through the bible, asking for God to show me His word, during this time of prayer, faith, trust, and provision He gave me this.....Psalm 77 which is a psalm of Asaph, the theme being: "We are comforted through the hard times by remembering God's help in the past. Recalling God's miracles and previous works can give us courage to continue." NLT Also God gave me this: And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say, "They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever." For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Had to share this funny little thing that happened or should I say that was said last week by our son Hayden who is 5. He was sitting there, talking non stop, which is pretty much out of the norm for him.....when he stated, "look at my muscles.....they look kinda like mountains," he sat there for a few seconds in silence, then said, " but they are kinda little mountains!" hehehe I was trying to keep a straight face! He was so serious and I didn't want to hurt his feelings but that was so darn funny! The things kids say! Share yours!

Thankful Thursdays

I am going to try to do Thankful Thursdays,(mind willing of course) where I state every Thursday at least one thing I am thankful for. Today's Thankful Thursday thing that I am thankful for is a little "big" thing that happened Tues. Let me start off first by saying....God is good and He knows the desires of our hearts, and provides for our needs, not to mention He gives us "wants" sometimes too!

Anyway, I am very fortunate to have a thrifty husband. He is thrifty...not cheap. There is a difference! He is so funny, he doesn't go into a store, particularly Wal Mart, Target, etc....without finding their clearance isles. He is also an awesome garage saler, and he never complains about shopping. He may not always like the particular store we are in but he will not complain! A couple of weekends ago we were in Amarillo, TX. (closest big city to us approx. 45 mi. away) shopping at Best Buy. We have been wanting a new microwave, to replace our older VERY small one. We looked and saw a couple of them that we liked. We discussed it and ultimately decided that neither of us had a "peace" about making a purchase of one that day. I just knew that God had a better deal for us in His timing.

Tuesday night, while I was at church at Women's group, he and our 1 yr. old, went to Wal Mart to pick up some things we were running low on. As per his usual....he stopped by some clearance shelves in the front of the store, and there were a couple of microwaves like what we had been looking for. One in particular, was marked down to $85....a good deal for a brand new, name brand microwave. He started to get it, then thought, no we really don't need to spend $85 on a microwave right now. Well, he walked on, about 2 isles over, and they came over the intercom and stated that all clearance items at the front of the store were now an additional 50% off the already marked clearance prices....!!!!! He whipped that basket back around and went and got us that microwave we were wanting, (not needing yet) for $42! WOOOOHOOOO Thank you God, and thank you to my husband Ronnie, for being thrifty and obedient to God!!!! So, that is my Thankful Thursday thing for the week. What's yours? Blessings my friends!

Happy Wednesday

Happy Wednesday there my friends. I hope this day finds you well. With the week nearly half over, I am definately looking forward to the weekend, and spending some quality time with my loving and godly husband. I finally married the Love of my Life, last Saturday, Sept. 5th, 2009, at 4:00 in the afternoon. It was a simple, small, but spiritual and meaningful ceremony. Exactly what we had wanted. All our children were present along with a handful of family and close friends. God has blessed me tremendously despite my faults and failures, and He has chosen to bless me with a wonderful, loving husband who loves me no matter what. He loves me unconditionally, just like the Lord does, and he is being a faithful godly leader of our home. We have been through many many trials and tribulations in our premarital relationship, but with Christ, we have come through them all, stronger and better because of it.
We are a blended family and there are days that it feels like I am inside of a blender, screaming to be let out. Our lives are normal, but extremely chaotic at tines as well. With 7 children, and one on the way, you can bet it's gonna be like a zoo from time to time! Our children range in age from almost 14, down to a year old. We have 4 girls, and 3 boys, and our newest addition is expected to be a little lass as well. I look forward to spending my life with this man and our precious family, and with God as the center, we will make it through. I look forward to meeting you all and sharing my blessings and struggles with you. Blessings my friends!- Shelley

Sibling Rivalry

Good Saturday Morning! I am contemplating sibling rivalry, as I enjoy my morning coffee. ( a little sugar, french vanilla creamer, whipped cream and cinnamon on top! YUM) Why is it that siblings seem to argue over EVERYTHING? Arghhh! I am sure it drives you as crazy as it does me. I recently went through a nasty divorce, and my children have definately felt the effects of it. I know it's been hard on them, just as it has on myself, and everyone else. Divorce definately doesn't just affect the couple getting the divorce. It affects them, their children, their families, their friends, their co-workers, and their church. It has been quite a battle between the kids, and authority since all of this. There are many other circumstances directly affecting my children's behavior that I am not at liberty to mention at this time, however, it is getting harder to find ways of correcting them. Things that used to work, no longer do. I understand they are acting out in frustration, but it is not an excuse for their behavior. They still need to be corrected.
As it says in Ephesians 6:12 " For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." NKJV This is something that I need to be reminded of frequently. The enemy is rampant, and he is wanting to steal the very breath in us, and children are not off limits. He uses them more than we realize. " The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." - John 10:10 Nothing is off limits to him! He will stop at NOTHING to try to take anything and everything from us. We must remember that we must correct our children in the flesh, but we must also be in prayer to our Heavenly Father, to correct their hearts and their spirits.
As I search for ways to correct my children that will work, I have come across a book, Creative Correction, by Lisa Whelchel. She does have some fantastic ideas to creatively correct children. I do not agree with all of her methods or ideas, but some are very ingenius. I also don't believe all of the ideas will pertain to every child. You have to find what works for each individual child, and that may be easier said than done.
I do not claim to be a know it all, now will I ever know it all. I will not always do things correctly, nor will you, but maybe together, we can help each other through tough times, through prayer, and friendship. May God bless you today and always! Hey! He already did! He made you a mother! - Be Blessed- Shelley
